The design intent in the new Karabar High School development is future-focused learning. By leading the students and teachers on a transformative journey from a traditional school model to a contemporary learning environment, we reconfigured the internal spaces into purposeful spaces that facilitate multiple learning opportunities.

With designated performance spaces, reflective and individual spaces, places to collaborate and present ideas, the environment lends itself to all learning and teaching experiences.

The new senior learning environment showcases a presentation stair that is agile and expressive, adaptable to teaching, presenting, events and collaboration.

The raw industrial feel from the concrete base is offset by earthy green tones placed in furnishings and study booths, while the acoustics are softened by fabric detailing on the walls and seating that enriches student and staff experience and emits a tactile sensory response.

The ambition to produce an outcome where both students and staff feel welcome and supported is manifested in flexible, connected, and inspiring spaces to learn and work.
