Braidwood Central School is a K-12 school located in the historic town of Braidwood, NSW. The site has been operating continuously as a school since 1854 and includes two buildings of exceptional heritage significance.

The current upgrade works included removal of six existing demountable buildings, insertion of two new building and the reconfiguration and refurbishment of two existing buildings to provide eleven new learning areas, in addition to a significant extension of the heritage-listed cottage to provide upgraded administration and staff facilities.

The design incorporates the amalgamation of separated playground spaces to form a central courtyard offering a generous and connected outdoor space, with direct access to the new buildings. Thoughtful details such as an amphitheatre and generous COLAs provide further opportunity for experiential learning

The upgrade works have been designed with careful consideration of the location, scale and heritage character of the site and will address anticipated student population increases and community aspirations for students and staff to be accommodated in permanent future-focused facilities.
